Custom Braille Signs

Braille Signs

In a world that constantly evolves towards inclusivity, it is imperative to recognize and address the diverse needs of individuals with varying abilities. One critical aspect of this inclusivity is the implementation of braille signage, which plays a pivotal role in ensuring that public spaces are accessible to everyone. While standard braille signs have long been a staple in many environments, the advent of 3D printing technology has revolutionized the way we approach accessibility. In this post, we explore the significance of custom braille signs and how their creation with cutting-edge 3D printing technology can make a profound impact on inclusivity.

3D printing is quickly becoming the standard for custom braille and tactile sign production across the globe.  The manufacturing technique gives designers the flexibility to add;

  • vibrant colours,
  • textures and
  • seamless full colour signs (up to 2438mm x 1219mm)
  • first and second surface printing

Addressing Compliance and Safety

Custom braille signs offer a valuable solution for businesses and institutions striving to meet accessibility standards and comply with regulations. These signs can be designed to adhere to specific guidelines, ensuring that they meet the required standards for height, spacing, and content. By investing in custom braille signage, businesses demonstrate a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility, potentially avoiding legal issues related to non-compliance.

Moreover, the use of high-quality materials and 3D printing technology enhances the durability of custom braille signs, making them more resistant to wear and tear. This durability not only ensures longevity but also contributes to the safety of individuals who rely on these signs for navigation.

Materials

We combine creative designs with innovative materials including acrylicpolycarbonates, aluminum, wood and many others. Topped with our non-glare clear coat, these signs are perfect for indoor and outdoor applications.

Further, braille signs are clear coated so that they can be cleaned repeatedly using hospital grade disinfectants, without affecting appearance.

Backgrounds can be printed opaque or translucent, bonded permanently to clear substrates, eliminating the need for custom acrylics. Also, backgrounds can be print on the first of second surface. Thus increasing the versatility of the designs.

Our non-glare clear coating provide vandal and disinfectant resistant for longevity in public spaces. Furthermore they have an abrasion resistant 5H pencil hardness.

Compliance

Our custom braille signs are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed standards including;

UV polymerization uses no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and releases no toxic fumes or ozone.  This is the most user friendly ADA sign available for the environment.
